Discover Asperger Works

There are changes happening at Asperger Works that will allow us to better serve you, your family, and our community.

But we need you to help our organization grow.

So consider donating your time, your expertise, and, yes, your money and make a difference in the lives of so many deserving people who only need to be given a chance to become productive, useful members of our neighborhood.

And if you own a business, please consider hiring one of our clients. Please note that we offer workshops to help you get the most out of your Aspie employee.

We Are Moving

For the last year, we have been residing at 20 Ballard Road, the home of NILP of Lawrence, MA. NILP generously donated office space for us; but now they are growing and, hopefully, so are we.

Our new home, as of August 1st, will be at 60 Island Street — still in the beautiful City of Lawrence, MA.

AWorks Welcomes International Interns

Asperger Works has been really fortunate to have the help of great international student interns. Last year a wonderful young woman from Saudi Arabia interned with us. This month, two interns joined us: a young man from Great Britain and a young woman from China.

In August, we expect another intern, also from China, to join us.

We have also been blessed with a couple of terrific volunteers! More about them in our next newsletter.

Introducing the AWorks Employment Team

In our last newsletter, we happily reported that we hired our first job coach. Unfortunately, things did not work out, and we were left with 1 client and no coach.

But never fear! Three members of our Board stepped up to the plate and formed the AWorks Employment Team.

So, instead of one job coach, we have three enthusiastic individuals (two of whom are Aspies themselves) who are willing to give of their time and energy to make life better for others. We also have two clients! We are all energized that we are making progress.

However, we are still actively looking for a qualified, enthusiastic job coach. If you think you have what it takes, please check out the Job Coach page and apply.

Summerfest, 2017
Summerfest, 2017
We had a great time at this year’s Summerfest, hosted by the Greater Lawrence Boating Program. Although the iffy weather kept many people away, those who attended (both vendors and visitors) enjoyed the food, the camaraderie, and the beautiful surroundings.

GLCAC Community Fair

Asperger Works is participating once more in this great yearly community event.
GLCAC helps more than 30,000 individuals annually with services provided by more than 15 programs. But they also try to connect their clients to other service providers in the City of Lawrence.
Residents attending will be entered in a free raffle to win prizes including backpacks filled with school supplies (supplied by participating organizations) and gift baskets.
