GLCAC Community Resource Fair

August 16, 2017

It was hot and humid on Thursday, August 17. Fortunately, there were heavy gusts of wind that cooled all of those who attended this, the 5th Annual GLCAC Community Resource Fair. And it was the 3rd year that Asperger Works participated. Tom “Woody” Wood, Xinze “Eilian” Tang, our volunteer from China, Adam Rajczyk, Daniel Rajczyk, and Eva Rajczyk participated.

Each vendor (for-profit and nonprofit) were asked to donate two backpacks filled with school supplies to be awarded to the children who were present at the Fair. Since Raytheon also donated a large number of backpacks, there was more than enough for everyone, including any of the vendors who wanted one.

Each visitor was asked to have their registration paper signed by every vendor in order to qualify for raffle prizes. Some dropped by our table just to have their papers signed. Others looked at our materials and we were able to engage them in conversation and tell them about our mission and how we could be of help.

Enjoy the video created for us by our Chinese student volunteer, Xinze “Eilian” Tang.
