St. Patrick’s Day Parade

March 10, 2018

In 2015, the Parade was postponed twice because of the weather. When we finally marched on March 28, the wind was howling and the snow was pelting us. On March 19, 2016, the weather actually cooperated. The sun was shining and all of us were in high spirits. Then came March of 2017. The weather was so bad that the organizers decided to cancel the parade and did not even bother to reschedule it.

According to the weather reports, March 10, 2018 was supposed to be a decent day with temperatures in the 40s and clear sky with only a breeze. The sun did peek out from behind the clouds a couple of times, but the sky was gray and the wind was going full force. We did manage to decorate the car; but it was so cold in fact that, while we were waiting for the parade to begin, we all piled into the car (minus Andrew DeCarlo, who arrived later). So there we were, Adam Rajczyk and Tom Wood in the front seats and Fay Wang (our volunteer from China), and the rest of the Rajczyks (Daniel, Eva, and Lisa) squeezed in the back.

Once the parade started, things were better. But because of the cold, not too many pictures were taken.
