March in the 2015 St. Patrick’s Day Parade
AWorks & Supporters
The 2015 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Lawrence was supposed to have been initially held on March 7. But we were all reeling from the snow storms that hit Massachusetts. Boston set a record of 108.6 inches (over 9 feet) by the time it was all finished. Here in the Merrimack Valley we were blessed with something like 8 feet. March 28th was the third date set for the Parade. It was a miserable winter day again. But there was no turning back and members of Asperger Works and some of our supporters braved the elements with many other marchers (including our new governor and lieutenant governor). We were all gratified to see some die-hard supporters line the Parade route and cheered us on.
This was our very first such public appearance and were not sure what to expect. It surprised all of us that many along the route not only waved to us but applauded as we walked by!
