MerryFEST River Festival
Summertime and the living is… well, easier.
No snow, no freezing howling wind, no slush, no snow shoveling.
And a chance for lots of fun–at the MerryFEST River Festival!
Weather-wise, it was a smorgasbord. When we first set up, it was cloudy. Then the sun peaked out. But all too soon the clouds decided to open up and deposit rain upon all of us. Along with the rain came the wind, which threatened to topple our display. Our next-door neighbors from Next Step Living were kind enough to drag our table and all our stuff under their tent; so we did not get as wet as we would have otherwise.
This was also the first time that we used one of our display boards, designed by Board member Rachael Chambers.
All present were greeted by Caroly Shumway, the Executive Director of the Merrimack River Watershed Council, our hosts. She was followed by Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivera.
Music was provided by Los Sugar Kings, a band of four men who played music from the Beatles to Santana – something for everyone. In fact they were so good you almost forgot that you were not listening to the original bands!
Take a look at our pictures and then enjoy our video slide-show.
