GLCAC Community Resource Fair

August 14, 2019

It was hot and humid on Wednesday, August 14. Fortunately, it wasn’t as hot as last year. There was enough breeze to blow things around at this, the 6th Annual GLCAC Community Resource Fair. And it was the 4th year that Asperger Works participated. The one thing that was different for us and helped us weather the heat was the bottles of water we supplied ourselves with. Our volunteers from China, Zibin (Bingo) Li, Linna (Marina) Ma, and Ruixuan (Crystal) Ren participated along with AWorks Board members, Adam and Eva Rajczyk.

Each vendor (for-profit and nonprofit) were asked to donate two backpacks filled with school supplies to be awarded to the children who were present at the Fair. Since Raytheon also donated a large number of backpacks, there was more than enough for everyone, including any of the vendors who wanted one.

As every year before, each visitor was asked to have their registration paper signed by every vendor in order to qualify for raffle prizes. Some dropped by our table just to have their papers signed. Others looked at our materials and we were able to engage them in conversation and tell them about our mission and how we could be of help.
